Found at the top Pounti hill, commanding breathtaking views of Serifos port, the enchanting Lazaris Mill complex stands as a testament to heritage and thoughtful design. Named after a handmade metal frame with a joined wing that generates electricity, crafted by the owner’s great-grandfather, this property houses six distinctive houses, each bearing its own unique charm.

Among them, House Samanti emerges as a haven of tranquility and charm, spanning 104 square meters. This residence encapsulates the essence of Cycladic living, boasting two spacious living areas, a well-appointed kitchen, two bedrooms, and three bathrooms. The name “Samanti” derives from the Sanskrit word for illumination. Inspired by the unparalleled light of the Aegean, the owner chose this name, reflecting the radiant essence of the property . With a capacity to comfortably accommodate three guests, House Samanti promises an idyllic retreat for those seeking solace amidst nature’s embrace.

The ground floor of the house boasts two entrances with vintage-style doors, one facing east and the other west. Nestled between them is the kitchen, fitted with Smeg appliances boasting an antique design in a charming ivoire hue. The floor is adorned with white cement screed, while the ceiling boasts a traditional construction of wood and cane. A staircase crafted from white cement screed ascends to the upper floor housing two bedrooms. One is the master bedroom, while the other has its own bathroom and shares a common terrace. Descending two steps from the kitchen, you enter the living room of the house, where the floor transitions to antique white wooden planks, exuding character. A custom-designed sofa by the renowned furniture designer Navone, who harbors a deep affection for Serifos, graces the space. To the left of the living room, within the open-plan area, sits a long, narrow desk of vintage design and a recliner, both in white. Another Navone piece that adorns the space. Pergolas made of reeds provide shade over a part of the terrace outside the living room and kitchen of the house. Adjacent to the kitchen is a small communal courtyard with a refreshing “Drosostalida”  accompanied by a table and bench—a cozy oasis for the summer. Behind the house lies a communal road and a descending footpath that leads to the nearest beach, “Livadakia,” just a five-minute walk from the complex.

House Samanti seamlessly blends traditional Cycladic architecture with modern comforts, nestled within a lush garden oasis. Cycladic influences resonate throughout, evident in the choice of materials and colors, while the interiors exude contemporary elegance. Large windows invite natural light to dance across the interiors, illuminating outdoor walls crafted from Karystos slabs that seamlessly merge with the natural landscape. Beyond lies the garden, a fragrant sanctuary boasting a variety of Greek herbs—basil, lavender, rosemary, oregano, and sage—offering not only sensory delight but also culinary inspiration. In every corner, House Samanti beckons guests to unwind, rejuvenate, and immerse themselves in the unparalleled beauty of Serifos island.
